Lohr, Frederick MD

Frederick T. Lohr, M.D. is the physician behind Chestertown Orthopedics. Dr. Lohr fell in love with Chestertown back in 1987 and has since built a reputation as the number one orthopedic surgeon in the area.

Dr. Lohr has degrees from Johns Hopkins University, Hahneman University, and the University of Maryland. In addition, he has studied joint replacement in Amsterdam and completed a Sports Medicine fellowship in Alabama under Dr. James Andrews prior to coming of Chestertown in 1987. Dr. Lohr is certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery. He also gained surgical experience in Pakistan in 1989 and 1990 treating war wounded from the Afghanistan conflict.

Dr. Lohr holds membership in Arthroscopy Association of North America, American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, Undersea Medical Society, American College of Sports Medicine, Med-Chi faculty of Maryland, Kent County Medical Society, and the Southern Orthopedic Society.

Dr. Lohr has always focused on state of the art techniques. During my time in Alabama with Dr. James Andrews, we were at the forefront of arthroscopy of the knee, elbow, and shoulder. When I came to Eastern Shore in the late 80’s nobody else utilized these techniques, which of course are now common place. Today, we do the majority of our surgery on an outpatient basis through tiny incissions.

Dr. Lohr lives on his farm in Fairlee, MD with his wife, and three children.
